Food flavourings including nut oils may also be included. It is used, along with electronic cigarettes, to simulate the experience of smoking without the combustion of tobacco cigarettes.
E-liquid is used in electronic cigarettes. It can be bought in the form of a closed cartridge, which is then disposed of after use, or as a seperate liquid usually sold in bottles. When it is bought as a liquid, it is poured or dripped either into a refillable cartridge or directly onto a heating element (known as an atomiser). It is then heated, and the resulting vapour inhaled. In contrast to cigarette smoke, the vapour is thought to be absorbed amongst the membranes, not in the lungs.
